Winter Gala Wrap-up

Our 2018 Winter Gala was a magical night, filled with food, fun, and philanthropy, as parents, teachers, District staff, city council and school board members, and corporate sponsors came together to support every child at every school in the Mountain View Whisman School District. As we "Let the Music Play," we raised much-needed funds for art, music, science, athletics, including a special fundraiser that raised money specifically to repair and purchase instruments for our 5th-graders and middle-schoolers. Many thanks to our guests, donors, sponsors, volunteers, and staff who made this night successful!

Back-to-School Matching Grant Update

Mountain View Educational Foundation’s incoming Executive Director, Melissa Armanini, outgoing Executive Director Melissa Moynahan, and Board of Directors President Andrea Maes announced today that the organization has received $77,500 in challenge grant funds and counting to kick-off fundraising this school year. These challenge grant funds come from three generous $25,000 corporate matching grants from Google, Hoven Foundation, and LinkedIn, and multiple community partners including Hibser Yamauchi Architects. The grant will match dollar-for-dollar all donations from supporters through September 30, 2017. Gifts doubled by 2017 donors will be matched in full, doubling the impact of their contributions.

“Whether it’s providing funding for next generation science standards in Mountain View Whisman School District, or funding art and music during the school day,” said Armanini, “Everything that MVEF does is made possible by our generous community supporters. Their donations make possible a well-rounded education for all students in Mountain View Whisman School District. We are very grateful for our corporate donors to invest in our organization in a way that encourages others to deepen their support.”

“Our schools need public support to continue to do great work," said Dr. Ayindé Rudolph, MVWSD Superintendent. "We are grateful for the work that MVEF does. They have supported impactful efforts that have become a part of our overall program. We not only value the programs MVEF finances, but appreciate their support of our teachers and most importantly, of our students. Without their help, we would not be able to offer a well-rounded educational experience to all of our students."
