Who is MVEF?
The Mountain View Educational Foundation (MVEF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation led by parent volunteers founded in 1984 to maintain and enhance the quality of academics and enrichment in the nine elementary and two middle schools in the Mountain View Whisman School District (MVWSD).
Contributions are solicited from individuals, businesses and other foundations for the benefit of all MVWSD students.
Vision and Mission
The Mountain View Educational Foundation’s vision is that every student in the Mountain View Whisman School District feels a sense of belonging and is empowered to reach their full potential. Its mission is to collaborate with the community to fund and nurture innovative and essential programs that foster a well-rounded education for all students in the district.
Bridging the Funding Gap
Established in 1984, MVEF's goal is to bridge the gap between state funding and the actual cost of providing a comprehensive education for our children. While property and parcel taxes cover essential expenses like salaries, facilities, and core academics, they fall short in supporting the diverse range of programs that truly nurture our students' potential.
Collaborative Approach
By partnering with the Mountain View Whisman School District and engaging with parents and community members, we identify and fund essential programs that ensure a well-rounded and competitive education for all.
Making A Difference
In the 2023-2024 school year alone, MVEF granted over $1M to MVWSD, supporting vital programs in art, music, science, reduced English class sizes, athletics, clubs and other activities.
