Volunteers are the driving force behind MVEF's mission to enhance education for all Mountain View students. By raising funds for essential programs in local public schools, we make a real difference in our community.
We are looking for passionate volunteers to be ambassadors who help raise awareness, support outreach, and enhance community connection with MVEF's mission.

MVEF and PTAs/PACT collaborate to create a thriving learning environment for all students. PTAs address the unique needs of individual schools, while MVEF supports district-wide initiatives, ensuring a consistently high-quality education across all schools.
Volunteer Opportunities
Become an MVEF Ambassador at Your School Site
Who: Current members of the MVWSD school community (parents or staff)
What: Inform, update, and connect with your school community about MVEF's mission, activities, and fundraising efforts.
How: Coordinate events, share information on social media, answer questions, and suggest new ways to engage with your school community.
Time: Just 2–4 hours/month (flexible) + optional events
Join us as a Board Member
MVEF is governed by a Board of Directors composed of dedicated community members and district parents - representing a mix of people with different kinds of expertise, community connection, and resources. We welcome new members who align with our mission and strategic goals and are passionate about making an impact in our kids' public education.
Who: Current members of the MVWSD school community (parents or staff) or any passionate community member who cares about public education in Mountain View
What: Help with outreach and fundraising within the community. Inform, update, and connect with your community about MVEF's mission, activities, and fundraising efforts.
How: Participate in Board meetings, fundraising and community events. Join 1-2 Board committees to focus on special projects with the overall aim to help reach the annual fundraising goal and strengthening the community
Time: ~4-8 hours/month (flexible) incl. optional events
Attend a Board Meeting to learn more about MVEF...
All community members are welcome at our monthly meetings, usually the second Tuesday from 7–9 PM. Come early (6:30–7 PM) for a casual “Meet & Greet” with board members. Learn about MVEF, our work, and how you can get involved. Contact valerie@mvef.org for details.
Become an Event Planner and Coordinator
Who: Individuals with experience in event planning, decoration, entertainment, etc
What: Help us organize our annual Spring Gala and other fundraising events.
How: Recommend new event ideas, assist with venue sourcing, auction items, coordinate decor and activities, and help with setup and cleanup.
