School Representatives

Schools have different needs and perspectives, thus we aim to have parent and teacher representatives from each school at the board meetings to help guide our group decisions. They committ to support and promote MVEF at their schools. Please note, everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend board meetings. We have more positions that need to be filled, and new ones that can be created for an enthusiastic new volunteer. Please Join Us.

Page McDonald

Her kids have been so fortunate to grow up in MVWSD, and have benefited from the music, arts, enrichment, and after school sports programs MVEF funds. That these basic programs stand at risk of being cut in a poor economy prompted her to join the MVEF board and work with Key Donors. Page is an elementary school teacher, currently working part-time at Bubb School. Her passions are art, music, and children.

Sara Jenez
Sara Jenez joined the board in 2010.  MVEF has played an important role in her kids' (6th and 8th grade) lives in terms of music and art throughout elementary school.  At Graham, Sara's son has been in jazz band and played on two after-school sports teams.  While her children were at Huff, she was part of the PTA executive team for 5 years, including two years as president.  In addition to being a long-time classroom volunteer primarily focusing on language arts, Sara has worked in the Huff library as a volunteer and as staff.  Last year she was a JustREAD tutor at Graham and she will be one again this year.  She is also on the Graham PTA executive board. Outside her school-related activities, Sara is a newsletter editor and scholarship committee member for the aquatics center at Abilities United.  She has her undergraduate degree from Stanford and a master's degree in public health from UNC, Chapel Hill.  Sara and her family love to travel and do so whenever they can.  At night you'll find her playing Scrabble against her IPad's CPU.
